Executive VP Development & ProductionWilliam Garcia, a multi-Emmy® Award-winning producer based in Los Angeles, has over 25 years of experience in television and film. Beginning his career in the 1980’s as a producer and director of photography at WPLG-TV in Miami, he documented significant historical events and news stories worldwide.
In the 1990s, Garcia represented WTSP-TV in a Soviet-American journalist exchange program during perestroika, earning a Suncoast Emmy for Best Documentary and recognition from the Radio and Television News Directors Association. He also covered NASA’s Space Shuttle missions and filmed South Florida sports staples like Sports Jam Live and The Don Shula Show, gaining over a dozen awards and nominations.
After 15 years in live television, Garcia became General Manager of Moving Pictures in Ft. Lauderdale, providing production services to independent producers and broadcasters. In 2004, he directed the Grammy-nominated music video Antes by Obie Bermudez, which topped MTV Latin America’s charts. Garcia has worked with legendary musicians, including Paul McCartney, Lenny Kravitz, Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Michael Jackson, Shakira, and Christina Aguilera, cementing his status as a sought-after filmmaker in music and commercial production.
Since 2005, William Garcia has established a strong presence in feature films and television with a diverse array of acclaimed projects. His credits include Red Bird, an award-winning film, and Loren Cass, a critically praised work nominated for the Gotham Independent Film Award, Locarno Leopard Filmmakers of the Present, and CineVegas Grand Jury Prize. Garcia also produced The Shift, an audience favorite at the Palm Beach International Film Festival starring Danny Glover. His Spanish-language successes include Amor Y Frijoles, Mi Verano Con Amanda III, and Quien Paga La Cuenta?, the latter becoming one of South America’s highest-grossing film. In 2017, he added Obsession, featuring Brad Dourif and Mekhi Phifer, to his impressive portfolio.
In digital and television media, Garcia has worked on projects such as the web series H8ters for Astronauts Wanted/Sony Entertainment, and shows like Selling Jets, Mega Mansions, Get Out, Selling Yachts, and Private Island for the AWE Network. His work has been featured on major broadcasters, including MTV, TLC, VH-1, Animal Planet, HBO, and more.
Recently, Garcia produced the feature film Rally Caps, which has earned multiple accolades, including the Audience Choice Award for Narrative Feature at the Heartland International Film Festival. Its heartfelt, family-friendly appeal has also led to strong reviews from critics. Additionally, the film was acquired by Peacock TV, securing its place for streaming audiences. He also co-produced the hit reality show Coulda Been House with internet sensation Druski. Currently, Garcia is a proud member of the Producers Guild of America and serves as the Executive VP of Development and Production for Globus Group Media Entertainment, a feature film production company based in West Hollywood.
